Author Guidelines
The Editorial Board of TANMIYAH: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Sosial welcomes manuscript submissions that are relevant to the journal’s focus and scope and comply with the following guidelines.
1. General Reguirements
- Manuscripts submitted to TANMIYAH: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Sosial must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.
- Authors are responsible for the originality, accuracy, and integrity of their work. All manuscripts are subject to similarity and plagiarism screening.
- The journal publishes scholarly articles in education and social studies, particularly on education, human development, institutions, culture, communities, and social change.
- Manuscripts may be written in standard Indonesian or academic English using clear and consistent academic language.
- Manuscripts must use the official TANMIYAH Microsoft Word template, A4 paper size, and DOC/DOCX format.
- The recommended length is 4,000–7,000 words, including references, tables, and figures. Review articles may exceed this limit when justified.
- Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
2. Manuscript Structure
- Title: Must contain no more than 18 words.
- Author Information: Full name; institutional affiliation; country; email.
- Abstract: Should contain approximately 150–200 words and briefly present the research.
- Keywords: 3–5 words.
- Introduction: (without subsection, 2–3 pages): Explain the research background, main problem, previous studies, research gap, novelty, research questions or hypotheses, and study objectives. Clearly show the study academic contribution.
- Literature Review: Critically discuss relevant theories, concepts, and previous studies. Identify research gaps, compare existing findings, and establish the theoretical or conceptual basis of the study.
- Methods: Describe the research design, setting, participants or sample, data sources, data collection, instruments, analysis procedures, validity or reliability, and ethical considerations where applicable.
- Results and Discussion: Present findings clearly and systematically, relate them to the research objectives or questions, interpret them using relevant theories and previous studies, and highlight their significance and contribution. Tables and figures may be used when necessary.
- Conclusion: Summarize the main findings, address the research objectives or questions, emphasize the study contribution, and where appropriate include limitations, recommendations, and directions for future research.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure: Authors must disclose any significant use of generative AI in writing, data analysis, image generation, coding, or translation in accordance with the journal AI Policy.
- References: Include only cited sources and follow APA 7th Edition style. References should be arranged alphabetically, prioritize relevant and recent scholarly sources, include DOI information where available, and use stable URLs when appropriate. Authors should verify all DOI and URL information before submission.

3. Tables, Figures, and Supplementary Materials: All tables and figures must be cited in the text, numbered consecutively, clearly titled, properly sourced where necessary, and accompanied by sufficient notes for independent understanding.
4. Online Submission Guidelines: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the TANMIYAH Online Submission System. Authors are required to register and log in to the journal OJS platform before submission.
- Start: Select the journal section, review submission requirements, ensure compliance with journal policies, and agree to copyright and privacy provisions.
- Upload Submission: Upload the manuscript in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) using the official TANMIYAH template. Anonymize the manuscript if required for peer review.
- Enter Metadata: Provide complete manuscript and author information, including title, abstract, keywords, names, emails, affiliations, countries, and ORCID IDs (if available). Include metadata for all authors.
- Upload Supplementary Files: Upload relevant supporting documents, such as instruments, datasets, tables, figures, ethical approvals, permissions, or declarations, if applicable.
- Confirmation: Review all information and files, then finalize the submission through the OJS system.
5. Peer Review Process: TANMIYAH: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Sosial applies a double-blind peer review system, ensuring that the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process.
6. Initial Screening: All manuscripts are screened by the Editorial Board for journal scope, author guidelines, originality, academic and methodological quality, completeness, and publication ethics.
7. Manuscrip Evaluation: Manuscripts outside the journal scope, below minimum academic standards, or with serious ethical concerns may be rejected without external review. Manuscripts requiring preliminary improvements may be returned to authors for revision.
8. Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that pass screening are assigned to an editor and reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise and no conflicts of interest.
9. Peer Review: Reviewers evaluate originality, relevance, theoretical contribution, methodology, data quality, analysis, academic writing, references, and overall contribution. The review process normally takes approximately four weeks, depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
10. Editorial Decision: Decisions may include Accepted, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Rejected. Reviewer recommendations are considered, while the final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief and/or Editorial Board.
11. Revision: Authors must respond systematically to reviewer comments. Major revisions are generally expected within four weeks and minor revisions within two weeks. Revised manuscripts may be reviewed again if necessary.
12. Final Decision: The Editorial Board evaluates whether revisions adequately address all concerns. Manuscripts may still be rejected if significant academic, methodological, ethical, or publication-standard issues remain.
13. Copyediting and Proofreading: Accepted manuscripts undergo language, style, citation, reference, and formatting checks without altering the authors substantive academic arguments.
14. Layout and Galley Proof: After copyediting, manuscripts are prepared in the journal layout. Authors may be asked to verify names, affiliations, typographical errors, tables, figures, citations, and references. Major content changes are generally not permitted at this stage.
15. Publication: Approved articles are scheduled for publication in TANMIYAH: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Sosial, published twice a year in June and December by the Almizanul Ilmi Banyuwangi Foundation, East Java, Indonesia.
